Hydraulic Solutions
Challenge: A scissor lift OEM is looking for a solution to minimize leak points, installation labor, tube assemblies required, servicing issues and foot-print space requirements on their new model. An image of the proto-type bread board assembly is shown to the left. Notice the numerous hoses and potential leak points.
Solution: A custom manifold was designed to incorporate five existing blocks into one block with Sun Hydraulics Cartridge Valves.
Result: - Space savings – 1 extremely compact manifold instead of 5 individual blocks. - Economical - even in small volumes OEM costs are lower than the sum of individual parts. - Reduced leak points – fewer fittings and tube assemblies are required. - Efficient design – shorter fluid passages and fewer fittings results in less pressure drop. - Simplified circuit layout – ports located with best locations for OEM connections. - Service - easier to service and trouble-shoot leading to reduced maintenance or warranty costs. - Higher output - reduced assembly time produces quicker turn around. The end product results in overall cost savings across many areas with a professional appearance.
AORS Trade ShowJune 3rd & 4th, 2009
Ontario Association of Road Supervisors (A.O.R.S.), together with the participating local Association, hosts the Annual Municipal Trade Show in June each year. It is the largest of its kind in Ontario and typically draws more than 2000 participants and 200 exhibitors of public works products and services.
This 2 day Trade Show provides an opportunity for public/private sector public works employees to share information and technical developments in materials, services and equipment required to build and maintain municipal roads and core infrastructure projects.
